Preparing for Storage Spaces Direct

- [Instructor] Preparing for Storage Spaces Direct means that we will need to install some roles before running the PowerShell Command to enable the feature. We can do this by using the server manager, as we will do in host one, or we can do it by PowerShell as we will perform it in host two. So let's go from Server Manager into the add roles and features option, and we'll go ahead and click next, until we get to the roles. From here we'll want to make sure we install Hyper-V, and I've already got Hyper-V installed, because we have some virtual machines running. And that automatically also installs the Hyper-V PowerShell feature as well. We also want to make sure that file and storage services is enabled. Go ahead and expand that. And we see the file server role also installed. Now we'll go onto the features section. And we will install failover clustering, so go ahead and check that box. And choose to add any features with it. We'll also check the box for data center bridging. And…
