Prepare VHDs for the gateway
- [Instructor] Let's prepare our VHD files for our software defined network. The newer version of VHD is now called VHDX, which is just a better version, but sometimes we still refer to them as VHD files. Let's go ahead and right click out of Virtual Machine Host and choose to create a new virtual machine. And we're going to call it Windows Server 2016. Then next. We'll choose to create a Generation Two, which has more features. Now we'll give it roughly eight gigs of RAM. Let's leave it unconnected. We're going to change the size to a simple 32 gigabytes because we don't need a big one for this particular project. I'll choose to install the operating system. Next. And finish. Our virtual machine has been created. Now you need to install an operating system. So let's go ahead and right click on that and choose Start. And then we'll connect on it.
