- [Instructor] When it comes time to start handing out IP addresses to the computers on our network, it's a good idea that you have some kind of rhyme or reason to it, right, some kind of an IP addressing scheme that you have in place. You don't want to just do it all willy-nilly. Now when putting together an IP addressing scheme, there's three questions you need to start off by asking. Number one, how many IP addresses do we need right now? Right, how many computers do I have. On each one of my networks, how many computers are there, right, because if I'm going to figure out what IP addresses I'm going to hand out, I need to know how many I'm handing out. But the next question is how many am I going to need in the future? What kind of growth am I expecting, and will my scheme accommodate that growth? And the third question would be, am I dealing with something that's already in place, and maybe I'm only dealing with the growth, or maybe it's not working properly so how can I recreate…
