- [Instructor] BitLocker is another defensive strategy that compliments EFS. BitLocker protects against data theft or exposure on devices that are lost or stolen. Data on a lost or stolen device is vulnerable to unauthorized access whether it be by a malicious hacker running some kind of software attack tool against it or sometimes by transferring the storage media over to another device that doesn't have all the different security mechanisms in place. Now BitLocker can encrypt an entire volume whether it is the Windows operating system volume or if it's just a data volume. So let's take a look and see how to enable BitLocker on Windows Server 2016. So here we're taking a look at just the Server Manager which opens up by default in Windows Server 2016.
