Managing the DHCP database

- [Teacher] The DHCP database is a dynamic database containing data that relates to scopes, address leases, and reservations. The database also contains a data file that stores both the DHCP configuration information and the lease data for clients who have leased an IP address from the DHCP server. So let's take a look at the database, look at a couple things that we can do with it. In order to do this, we have to go on to a server that has the DHCP server role installed, and for me, that would be DC-1, so let's go there now. Here in the Server Manager, I'm going to go up to the Tools menu, and then I will select DHCP. This will then take us into the DHCP Manager. Here in the DHCP Manager, you'll see that we are managing DC-1. If I right-click on that server itself and go to its properties, you'll see here that it has a database path, and it's the system root, which is C:\Windows, and inside there, there is a System32 directory, and inside there is DHCP.
