- [Instructor] Sometimes you'll find yourself in a situation where you have a remote office that has enough users, that it's worth having a domain controller locally in that office. But you don't have any IT staff in that location to help keep that server secure. Well Microsoft has a solution for this. It's called a Read Only Domain Controller. So to demonstrate this, I'm going to use DC3. 'Cause I've already installed active directory onto DC1 and DC2. They're fully functional domain controllers. So we'll make DC3 our read only version. Now the first step to installing a Read Only Domain Controller is exactly the same as any other domain controller and that's to add the AD DS role.
