- [Narrator] There are two things that you ought to consider when deciding where to install the WSUS role in your network. The updates that you're going to download may be selected. You can choose the workstation, server, and application updates that you want to manage but those will accumulate over time and start to take up quite a bit of space. They recommend that you start with a volume with at least six gigabytes available, I strongly recommend that you set aside quite a bit more. But storage is only one of the two concerns that I want to mention, the other is network usage. You get the flexibility of scheduling when you want to pull your updates from Microsoft, and you can also specify when your clients will pull their updates from you. That may mean that you need to select a server and a network location that has good connectivity and is not going to cause a burden for other network traffic. However, in a smaller…
