How to create a VM checkpoint

- [Instructor] A great way to get a virtual machine back up and running as quickly as possible is to use a checkpoint. We're going to right-click on one of our virtual machines, go to Settings, and this is one of those few settings that you can make changes to whether the virtual machine is running or not, which is very nice. And we're going to go to the area where it says Checkpoints. We see two different options. We see the option to enable the checkpoint as far as a production checkpoint goes, or go with a standard checkpoint. And there is a big difference between the two. The production checkpoint are points-in-time images of a virtual machine, which can be restored later in a way that's completely supported for your production workload. It's achieved by using backup technology, which is made within the guest itself to create the checkpoint, instead of using what's called a saved state.
