Group Policy preferences

- [Narrator] Group policy preferences include more than 20 group policy extensions that now expand the range of configurable settings within a GPO. In other words, you can now use group policy preferences to apply settings that previously only applied to scripts. You used to have to write a script to create these environments. So to demonstrate this we need to jump over to our domain controller, DC1. Here in the server manager let's go up to the tools menu and select group policy management. Here I'm going to simply expand down to our group policy objects container because to demonstrate this I just need to select any GPO, right click and select edit, just to get us into the group policy management editor. Here I want you to see that under both the computer configuration and the user configuration, besides policies we also have a selection here for preferences and if I expand these you'll notice in both cases you'll have Windows settings and control panel settings.
