Different types of high availability

- [Instructor] We're going to talk about many different topics with Windows Server 2019 high-availability. And one of the main ones we're going to be covering is storage. We can use RAID or a redundant array of inexpensive disks to create high-availability by having RAID 1, RAID 5, or any other RAID option that allows us to have that redundancy. The storage can be attached to the server or can be external to the server and connected through iSCSI, Fibre, or other means. We're also going to be talking about Storage Spaces Direct. And what that allows us to do is to take the locally attached storage in many different servers and bring them all together to create a redundant array of servers. This operates any similar way to RAID in the local server storage. We'll be talking about all the prerequisites and how to enable Storage Spaces Direct.
