At the end of this video, the student will learn how to set up replication with multiple servers for file share redundancy. Replicate files across many servers to speed up your network. They can even be in other physical locations.
- [Narrator] In a previous video, we went over installing…DFS Management, what that means, and how to create a…DFS namespace, and then demonstrated…how folders in both servers that we are demonstrating…now show up under the Shared Data…DFS namespace.…Let's go ahead and add replication,…and the reason you want to add replication is…because we want the data on both our SharedData folders…to have the same data on it.…
In case one server goes down,…then the other server will serve up all those files.…So, if we double click on SharedData on the Data server…and SharedData on the dc2 server, we see there's two files…on the Data server that are not on the dc2 server,…and we can fix that by setting up replications.…Let's go ahead and set up the replication.…As shown here, we already have our shared folder,…so now we can replicate between the two servers.…We're going to add our replication group,…and we have two options here.…
One is for replication group for multipurpose,…and the other is for data collection.…In our case, it's going to be a multipurpose,…
