Creating RAID volumes with striping and parity

- Data redundancy involves the ability to recover from a failed drive, without the server going down, and in Windows Server 2016, we have that capability by creating a Raid Partition. In a previous video, we discussed a Mirrored Partition, and in this video we're going to discuss a Parity Partition. So let's go to our File and Storage Services, and our Server Manager, and from here we're going to click on Storage Pools. Now, we have our Primordial Pool, which basically means that we've got this space available, and we've got drives that we can use, but nothing has yet been configured. So let's right-click on our pool and choose "New Storage Pool," and we're going to create a usable pool where we can create this Parity Drive. Let's go ahead and call it "Parity Drive," and choose "Next." From here, we need to choose at least 3 drives, and they have to all be the exact same size.
