Create continuously available file shares: Windows Server 2012 R2: Configure and Manage High Availability

In this video, Robert McMillen talks about how to create Continuously Available File Shares on a Windows Server 2012 R2 server. These types of file shares allow failover to another node in the cluster without a loss of connectivity or data. CAFS is a new feature to Windows 2012. In 2008 when you had to switch file sharing roles between nodes due to maintenance or failover, the user saw a timeout period where the data was unavailable. In 2012 we now have the option to have the file shares be continuously available. This is available in both a file server for general use and one for databases using the scale out option.
