In this demonstration, you will learn how to use an Active Directory Group Policy Object to configure clients and servers to pull updates from your WSUS server.
- The demonstration in this video takes…place on our domain controller.…Because having an update server is only half of the battle.…We need to point all of our workstations…and servers to our update server,…so that they can receive the updates…that we've selected and approved.…To do that, I'm not going to go machine to machine,…and configure them all one box at a time.…I'm going to go the server manager,…and run Group Policy Management,…where I can do things for the entire forest,…or at the individual domain level.…
Here in the land and hotel dot com domain,…you can see that there is a default domain policy.…I'm not going to use that one,…I want to create my own separate set of rules…that I can maintain, possibly move or delete,…without affecting the rest of the default domain guidelines.…To do that, I'm going to right click on the domain name,…and select a create a new Group Policy Object,…and link it here.…I'm going to name it WSUS, so that it's…easy to identify what types of rules…I've placed in this policy, and click okay.…
