- [Instructor] When it comes to actually setting up a computer with its IP configuration, we have three options available to us. We can go ahead and configure the computer statically or manually with an IP address where we actually type it in, or we could have the computer get its IP address automatically using DHCP, the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol where it communicates with the DHCP server. Or we also have a third and not very often used automatic process called APIPA which is Automatic Private IP Addressing. Now to see how we would assign this IP configuration in Windows Server 2016, I have a machine here with Windows Server 2016 installed on it and what we're looking at is the Server Manager which opens up by default whenever you login to the system on Windows Server 2016.
