- [Instructor] So we're down to the last piece of the puzzle. Our server's in place and ready for connections. Now we just need to configure Mr. Robertson's company laptop to use the DirectAccess gateway when he's on the road. This will allow him to access company resources and rely on the IT department to maintain his computer any time he's connected to the internet. Now one consideration that may be no big deal for larger companies, but may not have been considered by smaller ones is the edition of Windows that has to be used. Supported operating systems as DirectAccess clients include Windows Server 2012 and newer, and it also includes workstations running Windows 8 and newer, but only Enterprise edition. Professional edition and Home edition will not work for this access. So here we are on Mr. Robertson's work laptop.
