Learn how to setup a monitor for Hyper-V critical states in the Failover Cluster Manager. The actions set up will allow an administrator to automatically perform specific actions based on their criteria and work with System Center to setup notifications.
- [Narrator] It's a good idea to make sure…your virtual machines are running in your…Failover Cluster Manager.…And we can do that by setting up a monitor.…Now there's a few things we need to do…to make sure that the monitor's going to work…such as the server involved has to be…a member of the active directory domain.…The same domain that the Failover Cluster…is a part of.…And also the administrator of the local machine…must be at least the user that you're…logged in with into Failover Cluster Manager.…So if you're logged in with the domain…administrator by default that's already the case.…
But if you've created another account…with admin rights, make sure they're also…part of the local administrators users…group in the workstation or the server…that you're trying to manage and monitor…using Failover Cluster Manager.…Let's remote into Data2 and make sure…all this is set up properly before we set…up our monitor.…We've switched over to Data2 using a remote…desktop session.…And let's go down to "System" and make sure…
