Configure an iSCSI target
- [Instructor] Sometimes it's difficult to manage how much storage we're going to need on a server. One server may not have enough while another server may have more than it needs. Well in Windows Server 2016 we're able to take advantage of iSCSI targeting and an iSCSI initiator to allow us to take the extra storage on one server and put it to good use on another server. The first thing we have to do on our target server is add the target role. So let's go to the add role's and features in server manager and add that particular role service. Let's go to the file and storage services and go to the iSCSI target server. Click next and install. iSCSI takes advantage of the ethernet controller, which is already built in and being used in our Windows server. It then creates a link between the target and the initiator so the initiator can use the data on the target server. Once this particular installations complete we'll go in and take a look at the storage that we have available and run…
