- [Instructor] Historically, most people have expected their employers to provide them with a work station to perform their everyday tasks at work, but increasingly, more and more people want to be able to complete these same everyday tasks from their own mobile devices. These mobile devices could be a full-featured but highly portable device like a Microsoft Surface, and this is something that may be issued by the company, but it could also be the employee's personal Android or Apple smartphone. Because much of the data being accessed and manipulated is proprietary in nature, it may be important to vet these connections. In addition to verifying a username and password or via token, it may be important to limit access to only known devices.
