In this video, Robert McMillen talks about how to add a second cluster in the failover cluster manager. This can be helpful if you want to migrate to a new cluster or fix a corrupt one. There is a demonstration of going into Failover Cluster Manager and adding the additional cluster so the nodes and storage can be relocated.
- [Voiceover] Adding a second cluster to our…Failover Cluster Manager can be a good idea…if you want to upgrade, migrate, or fix…a cluster problem.…It's very similar to adding the first cluster.…Let's start by Right Clicking on our…Failover Cluster Manager at the top left,…and choose Create Cluster.…And click Next.…We would like to have the server name…that we're going to be adding in.…Now, just for fun, I'm going to put in…a server that we've already used in a cluster,…just to see what happens.…
So Cluster 1 is already in our first cluster.…Now the message at the bottom says,…"The Cluster 1 computer is already…joined to a cluster."…So we can't do that. So that just goes…to show you, you can only have a server…be a member of cluster one at a time.…Now let's change and put in our Cluster 3…server node.…And it successfully takes that.…So let's go ahead and choose Next.…
Now we have the option to validate the cluster…before continuing, which of course,…I do recommend, but for time's sake,…for the video, we'll go ahead and skip.…
