- [Instructor] We have available storage and it's no longer a cluster-shared volume you just saw in the previous video where we removed it and brought it back into general storage. Now what we want to do is we want to add a file server role by clicking on the roles section. Right-click and choose configure role. Our wizard comes up and we choose file server. Click next. In a previous video, we set up the scale-out file server for application data. And that works fine for a cluster-shared volume. But it doesn't work for all scenarios. As you can see, under the scale-out section it does not support NFS, DFS replication, or file server resource manager. So if you're going to use any of those, you have to use the file server for general use. Let's click next. Now we'll give this a name, which will create an active directory object for whatever we type in, and it has to be 15 characters or less. We'll click next.
