What is a low fidelity prototype?
- [Instructor] Low fidelity prototypes are a great way to quickly lay out interaction designs and even get user feedback before you start coding. The less cost you sink into a prototype, the less concern you'll have about throwing it out and starting again if you got things wrong, so it makes sense to build a prototype with the least investment in visual design, layout, and glossy content. That's what I mean by low fidelity. In a lot of cases, your visual design will be determined by a design system or brand guidelines anyway. What's important early in the development process is to find out whether the general interaction design ideas you have will work for users. Prototyping helps you build a complete interface from your initial design sketches, storyboards, or scenarios. The prototype fills in all the intermediate screens to create an end-to-end task flow.
