What is UX mapping?

- When you hear the word map, you might think of a visual artifact to find your way or make sense of something complex. Just like physical maps, UX maps can help us understand the people who will use what we build, the relationships between people and services or products we offer, and components of the whole system we're working on. If you're already a part of the UX world, you know that research and design helps us create better products, but you probably also know that communicating everything you've found can be a challenge. Maps can help us better communicate within and throughout our teams so that knowledge is shared and efforts are better aligned. I'm Amanda Stockwell. Welcome to this course on commonly used UX maps. I'll describe the core kinds of UX maps, help you identify when to use which map, and provide tips for anyone to get started using maps in their own work. Let's get mappy!
