- Many of the online survey tools have integrated data analysis functions. They provide comparisons, averages, and even graphs to visualize your results. You can create segments of respondents and either compare two segments or filter by one of those segments to dive deeper into their answers. Of course, you still need to do the work up front to create your desired outcome statements, so that you ask the right questions and collect the right data. But the tool does a lot of the heavy lifting for you when you're looking at the results. Even without this type of tool, the analysis isn't too hard. Because you took the time to create desired outcome statements, it's now easier to work through your survey results and pull out the details you need.
