Importing Photoshop into After Effects

- [Instructor] As I pointed out in the previous exercise, the key to using Photoshop Images and After Effects is careful preparation. To see what I am talking about, import the Hike PSD file found in your chapter download into After Effects. So, I am just going to double click the project panel here, select the Hike PSD file and what I'm going to do is import it as Composition Retain Layer sizes and I'm going to click Open and again I'm going to be asked, do you want editable layer styles? Absolutely! Click Okay and if I double click the Hike comp, there it is. What you got is the comp with the PSD inside, but if you tool down the layers, all of the layers inside of Photoshop are right there. So, that it's really kind of a neat little feature. When we come down to the timeline, you can see that each layer has it's own duration strip meaning whatever's in that layer can be manipulated. You may also notice the line layer is not visible.
