- The hardest job to get is always the first one, and that's especially true for technology. Although these careers offer some of the most in demand jobs, getting your foot in the door can be especially challenging. Hey there, I'm Ray Villalobos. I'm a senior staff instructor on LinkedIn, and I've been working in technology for over 20 years. I've been on both sides as a hiring manager, as well as an employee at different companies. For this course, I've interviewed a number of professionals, including first-time job seekers, hiring managers, and recruiters. I asked them what would work best for first-time job applicants. As a career switcher myself, I know how hard it is to break into technology, so I'm going to share with you some tips on what you can do to improve your chances and land that first technology gig.
