- [Instructor] Before we start talking about specific features or specific platforms let's talk about what you'll need in an e-commerce platform because what you need in a typical WordPress site and what you need in a WordPress site build for e-commerce are very different. For any e-commerce site, you're going to need the following. Product pages, which display important information to the user. A cart system which remembers who each user is, what they have in their cart, and how much they're going to pay. You need all of your pages to load over HTTPS so that your site is secure and no one can steal sensitive data. And you're going to need a domain name which is your home on the Internet. The first of those items is displaying products or having some sort of product page. On most platforms, there will be a product page that you can customize.
