Empathy for colleagues

- At its best, empathy is a superpower. As a UX professional, you can use your empathy for good by helping companies to understand and feel for the actual people that are consumers of the products that your company may produce. But however valuable, it would be a waste to focus all that empathy only outside the organization. If you're involved in UX, then by definition you're a person that cares about people. I'd like to challenge you to do your best to observe your colleagues, maybe those that work most directly with you or those in a more expansive network. And as you observe, look at their frustrations and pain points too. Are they being heard at meetings? Do they feel like they're adding value? Are they happy? Are they burnt out? Are they in pain in any way? Be a good listener and really hear their concerns when they speak. Use that empathy for good. Figure out ways to make their lives better. You're helping them…
