Creating an overshoot
- [Instructor] We have all seen the effect where something bounces into place in the UI, or when something rotates and rather than come to a complete stop, slows down. This technique is called an overshoot, and it is rather easy to create in After Effects, so let's get started. And to get yourself started, open the overshoot file found in your download. So what we're going to do here, is to assume a button is clicked and a star rotates into position. Once you have the rotation done, you can toss that rotation into a precomp and use it multiple times. So to create the rotation with the overshoot, what we're going to do first is select the Star layer, and press the R key. And we're going to come out to frame 10, and we're going to add a rotation key frame. Then we're going to come out to frame 60, and we're going to have it rotate once through 360 degrees. So if we come back here to the start, you can press the home key. There's your rotation, nice. Now let's create that overshoot…
