- Hello, I'm Sue Jenkins and welcome to Moodboards for Web Designers. Moodboards are an effective way to capture the essence of a project and make aesthetic decisions before you start designing. To begin with, I'll show you examples from a variety of design industries that use moodboards effectively. We'll then explore three main kinds of moodboards, and some different techniques you can use to create them both on and offline with hands-on and digital materials. I'll walk you through a few sample projects to show you how moodboards effectively guide the process of designing a flower shop's website, a healthy eating app, and an E-commerce coffee website.
Since moodboards include materials from a variety of sources, I'll also give you a brief overview of the legal implications of incorporating materials like stock images, image comps, Google images, and your own personal work. Along the way, we'll see a lot of examples that can jump start your creative process and improve your understanding of a project before you begin designing. So whether you're brand new to web and mobile design, or looking for suggestions on ways to enhance your design process, welcome to Moodbaords for Web Designers.
