- [Instructor] No, this is not the part of the course where I ask you whether your computer is turned off or whether you're using your CD drive for a cup holder. You've already got some tech savvy or you wouldn't be taking this course. But just like getting a good night's rest can reboot your body, sometimes restarting software can fix a problem. Sometimes applying an update and rebooting a system go hand-in-hand. For instance, you update your operating system and the computer automatically reboots itself. Other times, you'll run updates that don't require a restart but I always recommend doing it anyway. So what exactly are we restarting? Well, for starters, there's your computer and any of those other WHO components that we mentioned, like your development environment. Next there are applications.
