- You should be ready to go out and get your first eCommerce win. The best thing you can do now is to start getting practical experience. Go ahead and start sending out proposals for projects. If you get one in the door, that's great. Jump in with both feet, because it's an exciting journey that will teach you a lot. If you don't get your first proposal, that's fine too. Spend a little time playing with eCommerce software to get the feel for it. Maybe sell a free ebook on your site just to get the hang of eCommerce software. I highly recommend putting your projects on your personal site to promote your own brand and show your expertise.
