Working with other teams

- Information architects can't work alone. The information structure and content they need to do their work are housed in many different groups around the organization. They work with development team members, the marketing and communications group, designers, user researchers, quantitative analysts, and many other subject matter experts to understand the scope of the information space. They'll want to know what terminology the organization uses, and how that relates to the names customers and others give to the same items. They'll research the different data sources that are used to provide information in the system, and the structure of those databases. They'll look at the current content to find patterns in how it's created, and they'll also want to understand business and brand goals.
