- [Voiceover] Another way we can help performance when designing is using Icon Fonts. I just want to take a bit of time here and just describe what icon fonts are. Icon fonts are essentially a font in different file formats for different operating systems and browsers and devices et cetera. But if you look right here you're gonna see a whole bunch of different icons that are in there. So it's not just a font that is full of characters, like letters and numbers. Instead they're icons that are specifically designed. The great thing about icon fonts is that they're scalable. They are a font file which can be downloaded once if you need to, you can use tons of different icons in one set or one font. Or you can pair it down to what you need. There are lots of different sites out there that offer these for instance, this is Genericons so I can click download to download them.
