Best image formats

- [Voiceover] Another way to ensure that what you design is going to be best for performance, is to choose the best web formats for your images. I've got a chart here that I just wanted to mention the different image formats. We've got, let me just give you a little idea of what each is used for. We have GIF, PNG, and JPEG. These are the three that we've used forever on the web. I'm talking forever. PNG is actually a little bit newer, if you will, than GIF and JPEG, which is kind of interesting. GIF to be perfect honest, I don't use that much anymore. I really don't. I tend to use a lot of PNG. PNG comes in two different versions. At least two. PNG-8 and PNG-24. We're going to talk about that briefly. We also have JPEG. So JPEG allows us to create images that are a lot of different colors. Typically gradients, different things like that, maybe photographs.
