What you should know before watching this course
- There are no prerequisites for this course. If your job involves writing content for use online, whether it's a newsletter, an internet site, or a website, then the concepts in this course apply to you. This course takes the results of psychological research and uses them to show you how to write text in the way that people want to consume it online. We'll not cover basic grammar or spelling. We also won't be covering marketing or branding. In fact, as you see as we get into the course, marketing and branding can often get in the way of clear, online writing. We won't get into detailed discussion of content management systems or other authoring or publishing tools. That's because, often, you don't have a choice in which tools you use. What we will cover briefly is some changes that you can make to your content management system in order to make it work better for you.
