- Within an article, it's important to make sure that you give readers a reason to care. Why should they buy your product, use your service, contribute to your charity, or follow the advice that you're giving? At heart, most people really do care about what's in it for them. You might think that you've covered that by talking about features or benefits. But you have to remember that your readers aren't the same type of people as you are. They aren't intimately familiar with your product or service, so they'll need help understanding how what you offer fits with their needs.
