Join Sara Morgan for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know before watching this course, part of Developing with Visualforce.
So if you are already a Java developer, you will feel right at home using it. If you are coming from another object-oriented language like C#, .NET, then you will also find the transition to using Apex quite natural. But since this is an introductory course, we will not be focusing on Apex and some of the more advanced things you can do with it in Visualforce. Non-programmers should still be able to follow along and learn how to build effective Visualforce pages using a minimal amount of code.
Lastly, no prior experience with Salesforce or Visualforce tools is needed to be successful. This course is meant to be a jump-start to using the product even if you have never seen or used Salesforce, you'll be OK.
