Join Sara Morgan Nettles for an in-depth discussion in this video Understanding permissions, part of Visualforce for Developers.
- In the last video, I created a Visualforce page…called tab-to-count, to be used in place…of the standard account view.…Since I created the page, and my account is assigned…the profile of a system administrator,…I was able to see this page rendered…when I selected an account to view.…But do you think that would automatically happen…for all users of my Development Edition Org?…Hopefully you answered "no" to this.…Salesforce offers many options…for controlling security in your org.…And I will not go over all of them in this video.…
Since it is beyond the scope of this course.…However, it is important for you to be aware of the fact…that permissions play an important role…in whether the Visualforce pages you create…will be accessible to the right users.…To help illustrate this, I have created a test user…in my Development Edition Org.…And named it "test-user".…I have assigned this user…to the standard Salesforce user profile.…Which is a built-in profile.…I will now switch screens, and log-in as that test user.…
So you can see what they're able to view.…
