- Hi, I'm Walt Ritscher, and I want to welcome you to this installment of my Visual Studio Essential Training series, working with code editors. If you are like most developers, you spend a lot of time in the code editor, writing, testing, and rewriting code. When you master the editor tools, you can write code faster with fewer mistakes. In this course, we'll go step by step through the editor tools, learning how to use the important tools in each editor. You'll see how to format, indent, and layout your code for maximum readability.
I'll show you how to work with code snippets and smart tags. You'll be interested in the refactoring tools and how they make it easier to rewrite code without introducing errors into the refactored code. You'll also see how to comment and document your code efficiently for other developers. Finally, I'll look at custom editor settings, and how to make each editor window match your coding expectations. Let's begin, it's time to start exploring the code editors in Visual Studio.
