- Hi, I'm Walt Ritcher, and I want to welcome you to this installment of my Visual Studio 2015 Essentials series, Surveying the Programming Languages. I'll be taking you through a tour of the multifaceted approach to the languages available in Visual Studio. You probably have a favorite language, that one that you instinctively reach for when you're starting a new project. Visual Studio supports many of these favorite languages. In this course, you'll look over my shoulder as I explore four popular languages: C#, Visual Basic, C++, and F#.
I'll look at some fundamental syntax for each language and show you how to write simple applications in each. I'll also spend some time investigating how Visual Studio supports multiple languages and show you some non-Microsoft languages that can be added to Visual Studio. I think you'll enjoy this overview, so let's start exploring the Visual Studio programming languages.
