- [Walt] Hi, I'm Walt Ritscher and I want to welcome you to my Visual Studio Essentials. This amazing product contains every conceivable tool you need to be a productive developer. In this course, I'll show you the many corners of the Visual Studio ecosystem. For the Visual Studio beginner, I'll look at the breadth of the tools available from Microsoft. For the seasoned Visual Studio pro, I'll look at the overall changes emerging from Redmond and how Azure, the cloud based services layer is changing Microsoft development. Next, I'll look at the team tools available in Team Foundation Server, then comes a quick look at the Visual Studio integrated development environment, and the code editors.
I'll look at the personalization features and investigate why logging into the IDE is helpful in that regard. Finally, we'll take a tour of Blend for Visual Studio, a complementary IDE that simplifies building modern XAML based applications. So let's start exploring the Visual Studio ecosystem.
