Your custom Item templates can be installed in the global install folder (the location for the default templates) or in the user specific folder. This tutorial explores the user specific folder and shows how Item templates placed in this location are automatically added to the list of available templates.
- [Voiceover] Now its time to install…the custom item template.…The file FadedPage.zip…is inside My Exported Templates files folder…which is where Visual Studio created it…during the last video.…I'll copy this zip file…and then I'll go over to my Documents folder…and open up the Templates folder…then I'll drill down into the ItemTemplates.…Now in an earlier video in this course…I created a folder here into this Visual C# folder…called MVC-Views.…
I'll create another folder in here…and I'll name it the same name…as one of the pre-existing folders…that's part of the default install.…So there's already a WPF folder inside the Templates folder…so I'll create one here…and then I'll put my FadedPage inside this folder.…Now I'm ready to test inside Visual Studio.…I'll launch Visual Studio.…Choose to open a project…and then from my Exercise files folder,…I'll open this one here this UsedItemTemplate.…
This is a WPF project so when I right click on it…and choose Add, New Item…It defaults to WPF specific items usually…and I can drill down into this WPF folder…
