- [Instructor] In this chapter, we'll look at the code editors and how to customize the editor settings. Before we look at any custom settings, let's look at how to save and restore your current settings. You'll find this feature in the Import and Export Settings. So you can choose to Export, Import, or Reset to the factory. We'll look at the top two. They're fairly self-explanatory, but let's walk through them anyway. Export your current settings. You'll choose from this list of settings, then click Next. Give your file a name. Notice that it has a vssettings extension. And pick your location and then click Finish. If you're importing your settings, you're given the opportunity to save your current settings before importing the other file. I don't want to do that, so I'll just click here on this other option, No just import new settings. And then here I can pick my settings. These are the factory settings that Microsoft ships, General, JavaScript, and so on. I typically use General…
