How to install Visual Studio
- [Instructor] If you have already installed Visual Studio 2019, you are ready to start exploring the IDE. You can skip the rest of the videos in this chapter and proceed to chapter one. Check out the rest of this video before you move on, however. I've got some ideas you should consider before watching the rest of the course. For the rest of you, those that don't have Visual Studio installed yet, you'll find the steps outlined in the rest of this chapter. Even if you have installed Visual Studio, you might want to review your installed workloads. Workloads are the bundles of tools that support certain scenarios, like ASP.NET web development and Azure development. You'll find details in the Choosing Workloads video. When you first run Visual Studio, it asks you to configure some basic settings like default theme and language settings. I used the General setting in this course. To ensure your keybindings and other tools match my settings, watch the configuration video. Finally, if you want to use the example code, you'll need to clone the GitHub repo and download a ZIP file. Details are covered elsewhere.
