- Hi, my name is Scott Helmers and I've been living and breathing Visio daily for the last 15 years. During that time, I've written books and delivered webcasts that have helped thousands of people to accomplish things with Visio that they didn't even know were possible. Would you like to be one of them? In this course, I'll show you how to add text, numeric, date and other types of fields to Visio shapes. I'll demonstrate how to insert display fields so your shapes present your chosen data. I'll show you how to run predefined reports and create custom reports. You'll learn how to visualize data using text call-outs, data bars and icon sets and even how to change the color of a shape when its data changes. I'll also demonstrate how to link diagrams to external data sources ranging from Excel to Access. In short, you'll learn how to create practical, attractive, data-rich diagrams that will help you to communicate more effectively.
