Visualize data with color by value

- [Instructor] One of the simplest and most effective techniques for representing data is to change the color of a shape as the value in the selected data field changes. In Visio, this type of data graphic is called Color by Value. To illustrate color by value, let's use a flowchart as a dashboard for viewing the execution state of one instance of a process. We'll use the values in the status field to change the color of each step in the process. Notice that for the selected shape, interview candidates, there is a status field and it contains a dropdown list of all of the possible status values. Let's click the advanced data graphics button, which in Visio 2010 and 2013 is called Data Graphics and is on the left side of the tab, but once you click it, it opens the same graphics gallery.
