Join David Rivers for an in-depth discussion in this video Set the drawing scale, part of Visio 2016 Essential Training.
- The very first step in creating your floor plan…when you start a floor plan diagram…like we did in the previous movie, is to set up the scale.…The default scale appears on the ruler.…And as you can see from ours that we started…in the previous movie, you'll notice…we go up to and past 140 feet,…and as we look at the short edge here…of our 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper,…it looks like it's not quite 100 feet.…But, if your floor plan needs to be bigger or smaller,…you'll want to change the scale,…and once you set the scale,…you'll then be ready to start dragging things onto the page.…
With a scale that's too large,…we may end up with a very tiny drawing on the inside,…so you want to maximize the scale…to fit the dimensions of, in this case…a floor plan, let's say…for an entire floor in a building.…So, all we do is go up to the Design tab, give it a click.…Here in the Page Setup group, we're going to keep…our Orientation and paper Size the same.…It's the scale we want to change,…so we click the icon in the bottom right-hand corner,…
