Leverage data-driven floor plans

- [Narrator] A floor plan provides a great visual reference point for designing, rearranging, or using space in a building, but floor plan diagrams can be so much more than that when you link them to data about building occupants, furniture, and equipment. After linking, you can visualize key building data and run the predefined reports that are included with Visio floor plans. The diagram on the screen has already been linked to data about furniture assets, as you can see in the external data window and in the shape data window for the selected desk. The data itself happens to reside in an Excel workbook. We also have data about the spaces in the building that is located in another Excel workbook. Keep in mind, however, that either set of data could be in a SharePoint list or virtually any database. Back to the diagram, let's close the external data window for the time being.
