- [Scott] Whenever you're dealing with a complex problem, there are two techniques that almost invariably help. The first is to break the problem into smaller, more manageable pieces, and the second is to draw a picture because the human brain processes images much more quickly than text. Flowcharts are the embodiment of both techniques. They help us decompose a complex problem into phases and steps, and they're diagrams, not just a bunch of words. While flowcharts can be used for many purposes, in this LinkedIn learning course, we'll focus on using flowcharts to document work processes. Hi, my name is Scott Helmers, and I've been a business process consultant for more than 20 years. During that time, I've worked with many clients and all types of process maps.
